François Shalom

Born in France, François Shalom majored in history, discipline in which he received his B.A. from Concordia University.
Fluently bilingual, he started in journalism in 1984 in the Montreal bureau of the Toronto Globe and Mail. He wrote about sports, politics and social trends in Quebec.
He then went to the Canadian Press.
In 1988, The Gazette in Montreal hired him for its financial section. He excelled in financial media relations for 30 years. There, he covered most beats over the years, including the retail sector, mines and metals, aerospace, the auto industry and forestry.
